Jochen Rehrl formerly worked for the Austrian Ministry of Defence and Sports. Currently, he is seconded to the EEAS/ESDC in Brussels. His previous posts include political adviser both in Vienna and Brussels. He holds three master’s degrees – in economics, international relations and journalism – from the Universities of Salzburg and Vienna and from the Diplomatic Academy in Vienna. In 1999, he was awarded with a doctoral degree in law from the Paris-Lodron-University in Salzburg. His publications focus on foreign and security policy from a legal and political point of view.
