Khadir Abdi

EU-CIVCAP Staff


Khadir Abdi has lived and worked in Somaliland, Somalia and the UK and has deep local insight into Somali military and civil society with a global perspective supported by professional experience abroad. He has a masters degree in International Security from the University of Bristol and holds the honorary title of Research Affiliate. He is currently Operations Director for Transparency Solutions (TS) based in Hargeisa and is on the Senior Management Team of Somali First, a co-produced initiative between the University of Bristol and TS.

TS has extensive experience advising national and international governments on issues relating to conflict, security and local capacity-building, with a focus on the Horn of Africa. TS is thus well placed to contribute with expertise to Work Packages 5 and 6 on conflict prevention and peacebuilding and capacity-building policies on the Horn of Africa.
