Terri Beswick is an analyst specialising in peace and conflict policy. She has nine years of experience working in international policy in the UK, France, Belgium, Jordan and the Netherlands. Prior to joining EPLO, she worked as an advisor on the development of the EU’s early warning system for conflict prevention at the European External Action Service (EEAS), as well as for a number of NGOs and think-tanks on peacebuiling and development policy.

Doing what is reasonable and routine: EU trade, development and due diligence in conflict-affected contexts (8 January 2018) - The consequences of conflict are far-reaching and clearly threaten the EU’s expressed core values of peace, security, sustainable development, poverty reduction, and human rights. Therefore, all the organs of European Union external action should be concerned with making sure that the EU’s engagement in environments affected by conflict (1) does no harm and (2) is designed to reduce the risks of conflict and maximise sustainable peace.
