UABDN contributes with expertise on the EU’s common foreign / security / defence policy. Moreover, staff members at UABDN have a long-standing experience working on learning theories, with a particular focus on the development of EU crisis management/conflict resolution operations over time. UABDN has also participated in European and international research projects, with Michael E. Smith being awarded one of the first research awards from the European Research Council in 2007.
